Player Ratings and Turn Order

Turn order on the Member side is random if you are within 10 points of your opponent. Outside of 10 points, the opponent with the higher rating always goes first. (UPDATE:  There is now an unknown percentage  chance when outside the 10 point range that the higher rated player will still go 2nd)

To check your rating, click on your name (in red) at the top of the chat window. You can also check your opponent's rating by clicking on their name in the Players box, then selecting the Player Info button beneath.

It is always a good idea to know your opponent's rating, in order to determine whether you will be moving first or second in the game. Players often have two different dungeons depending on their turn order. For example, they may have a fast dungeon with good vision if they will be moving first, and a dungeon with archers if they are moving second. Selecting the appropriate dungeon for your turn order can give you an edge in the game.

Another advantage to knowing your opponent's rating is to give you a realistic idea of your chances for success. If an opponent has a high rating, it is a good idea to wait until your population has matured before challenging her. On the other hand, knowing that you will be moving second can be a significant advantage. You win more points against a higher rated player. And your chances of getting a good migration are slightly better than if you play someone with a low rating.
